8/21/2008 Nashville, TN—The trio, Holy Destiny of Clanton, AL have signed an exclusive recording and promotion contract with the Revival Wind Music.

Paul Martin, A&R Director for The Revival Wind Music Group, has this to say concerning the signing of Holy Destiny, “As a record company executive, it’s really hard to understand how a group of this caliber has been virtually overlooked for years. When we first heard them, we wanted the best for the group, even if they didn’t sign with Revival Wind. As always, the Lord’s plan prevailed and we are fortunate enough to sign this fantastic, spiritual group to an exclusive Revival Wind recording agreement.” Martin continued, “Because these guys know who they are singing about and because of their fantastic talent and energetic stage presence, Holy Destiny is a great addition to the Revival Wind artist line-up.”

Lance Driskell was quick to add a statement concerning the signing, “It is awesome to be part of a label that is ministry oriented, “that” is so refreshing. From the first time I talked to Marty and the staff at Revival Wind, it has been all about our ministry. When that is right, everything else will fall into place. We are excited to be a part of such a wonderful family.”

The group and Revival Wind are currently selecting songs for their first recording and single project.

Long-time Members Shannon Smith & Jeremie Hudson Resign to Pursue Church Ministry Opportunities

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame inductees The Imperials are proud to announce the addition of vocalists Scott Allen and Perry Jones to the group.

Scott and Perry are replacing longstanding members Shannon Smith and Jeremie Hudson as lead and tenor vocalists. Both Shannon and Jeremie resigned from the group to pursue jobs in church ministry.

Shannon Smith said, “While the guys in The Imperials didn't want me to leave, they have been supportive of me following the Lord in this direction, and I'm really grateful to them for that. It's been somewhat of a tough transition emotionally because the four of us have been like brothers over the past several years, and we've really come to love each other. I know that we'll remain friends but we're so used to being together all the time that this will take some getting used to for all of us! They have a great vision for the future and some great things are happening. I'm excited to see where the Lord leads them!”

Shannon has taken a church in Miami, Florida. He and his family have already moved there and are excited about their future there.

Jeremie Hudson has taken a position in a church in Alabama.

“I have loved my time in The Imperials for these nine years! I thank GOD, Armond Morales, all our fans, pastors and all the friends I made. I also want to say a huge thank you, and I'll miss you, to Jason, Ian and Shannon. We went through a lot together. I pray that we will remain close as we go in separate directions,” said Jeremie. “It was always my desire to see people's lives changed. I can only hope and pray that I have lived up to the calling that GOD placed on my life while in The Imperials. God bless you all!”

Scott Allen, the group’s new lead vocalist, has been filling in for Shannon since he announced his resignation last April. Allen spent time on the road with Mercy’s Mark before joining The Imperials.

Perry Jones replaces Jeremie Hudson on the tenor spot. Perry Jones most recently sang with up and coming trio Brothers Forever.

Jason Morales of The Imperials said, “While it is always a sad thing to see members of a group who are like family leave, Ian and I can’t help but have high expectations for the future of The Imperials. We are so excited to see where God is going to take this group as we enter a new chapter in The Imperials’ history.”

More information on the group’s new members will be updated on the The Imperials’ website shortly.

The Imperials’ latest single, “We’ve Got a Great Big Wonderful God”, recently became the group’s latest Top 20 hit. The song is the first Top 20 hit for the group from their latest critically-acclaimed and award-winning release, Back to the Roots. “We’ve Got a Great Big Wonderful God” came in at #16 for the upcoming August 2008 issue of the Singing News Top 80 chart.

Back to the Roots was awarded Album of the Year at the 2008 SGN Music Awards Celebration earlier this year.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Sunday Edition, one of Nashville’s favorite groups, is in the beginning stages of recording a brand new album. Tracking is currently being done for the new project – which will be a piano-only hymns and worship album.

Tracks for the new album, tentatively titled Sunday Worship, are being recorded by Bobby McAllister for Salem Sound in Salem, North Carolina. Sunday Worship is being produced by group members Chris Unthank and Deon Unthank.

Chris Unthank said, “We are continually singing in many different kinds of churches. Some churches want worship music, while others love Southern Gospel. We are hoping to reach a broader audience by providing music that everyone loves – whether its worship music or hymns and Southern Gospel.”

Sunday Worship will feature five hymns and five worship songs in a stripped-down, piano-only setting. The album will also include one full-band recording, “Love Song”, which was written by up and coming songwriter and worship leader Leah Lowrance. The track features the Turning Point Assembly of God worship band and was produced and engineered by Aaron Minick.

“All of these songs were hand-picked by the group,” mentioned Deon Unthank. “These are songs that we love and worship with every week in our own home churches. We can’t wait to start utilizing these songs in our services and concerts.”

Songs included on Sunday Worship are “Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone)”, “Blessed Assurance”, “Friend of God”, “I Never Shall Forget the Day”, “I Will Follow/Precious Lord”, “Indescribable”, “Love Song”, “Made Me Glad”, “The Old Rugged Cross”, “What a Day That Will Be”, and “Who Can Satisfy?”.

Vocals for the new recording will be recorded at Square One Studio in Franklin, Tennessee in September. Sunday Worship has a tentative release date of late October or early November.

Sunday Edition is currently looking for songs for their upcoming mainline release. That new album will begin production in early 2009.

Sunday Edition has seen much success at Southern Gospel radio with their last single – “Naaman”. The song has charted on all the major industry charts. “Naaman”, which was penned by Paula Stefanovich, is the fourth single from Sunday Edition’s critically acclaimed release Absolutely Free. All four singles from the album (“He Keeps Lifting”, “Call On Jesus”, “Big God”, and “Naaman”) have charted on various industry charts. “Naaman” was pushed to radio through DJ Man Promotions, Rhonda Thompson Promotions, and most recently the Rick Hendrix Company.

Sunday Edition’s new single, “Absolutely Free”, is poised to hit radio this month. The song, written by Daryl K. Williams, will be promoted to Southern Gospel radio exclusively through the Rick Hendrix Company.

Gaither Homecoming Videos Certified Gold By RIAA

When a handful of gospel music pioneers gathered in a Nashville studio in 1991 to lay down tracks for one Gaither Vocal Band song, "Where Could I Go," there was little indication of what would follow. Seventeen years later, gospel legend Bill Gaither's sentimental gesture continues to touch such a responsive chord in his audience that of the 125 Gaither Homecoming titles in circulation, 113 have attained gold, platinum or multi-platinum RIAA certification as of June 30, 2008. Of those titles, 49 are gold, 59 are platinum and five are multi-platinum.

Among the newest titles to be certified gold are the two hymns projects taped at the Grand Ole Opry House: Amazing Grace and How Great Thou Art; two projects by Ernie Haase and Signature Sound: Get Away Jordan and Together, a joint project with the Gaither Vocal Band; and The Best of Anthony Burger.

"I never cease to be filled with gratitude and humility that these videos have ministered to the lives of so many fellow pilgrims," Bill Gaither reflected. "I simply wanted to sing a song with so many of my musical heroes--Jake Hess, Howard and Vestal Goodman, the Speer Family, George Younce and Glen Payne and some others who were entering the twilight of their careers. But God wasn't through with them yet, and He used the Homecoming stage to introduce their music to a new generation of music lovers. What a blessing that has been!"

The newest Gaither DVDs, A Country Bluegrass Homecoming Volumes 1 and 2 will be released August 19th.

According to the Easters website, Sheri Easter stated, "Today, I received some of the best news I’ve had in a month! I met with my oncologist and from all of the bone scans, CT scans and echocardiograms—everything came back clear—no tumors, no metastasizing, no visible signs of cancer anywhere in my body. Praise the Lord! Thank you to everyone who has prayed, called and sent cards, may God bless you with the same love you’ve shown to me."

Sheri goes on to say that she will be undergoing chemotherapy as a measure to prevent cancer recurrences. She further adds, "Please keep the prayers going as you well know, chemo can take its toll on a body. I haven’t missed any of my dates except the week of surgery and I hope to be strong enough to continue to travel full time. My aunt traveled with the Lewis Family during her treatments and has been a huge encouragement to me throughout this battle. I’m wise enough to know cancer nor its treatments are easy, but I choose to believe that God is faithful and I am determined to do everything I can to stay strong and healthy during this process."

BSA/Beckie Simmons Agency stated that Sheri Easter is still on the road full time! "This is amazing since Sheri had surgery last month for breast cancer. Her recovery time is nothing less than a miracle. Just two weeks ago, Sheri, along with Jeff, flew to Winnepeg, Manatoba,Canada. What a weekend...they traveled by commercial plane, a chartered plane, a pickup truck, and then a rowboat (yes, we said rowboat!) to deliver her message in song! Now, that is what we would label miraculous..."Something to shout about"!

Beckie Simmons adds that Sheri plans to be on the bus every weekend and has no plans to miss any dates. She wants to be out there delivering her message and enjoying her life on the road with her family and friends. And, that's "something to shout about"!
