Chris Freeman

Chris, you are such an out-going personality on stage, is that how you are all the time? Have you always been like that, or did you have to develop your personality as you grew in ministry?

I have always had a lot to say, if that's what you mean. I never spoke much on stage when I was with the Hinsons, I didn't need to. Ronny, Kenny also Larry did, that was their job. I feel that personality is a natural gift, we can sometimes make it better, but when it becomes un-natural it's fake.

When did you know that you wanted to be a Gospel singer?

I was about 11 years old. I was rasied in central Calif., so we didn't have SG music. In fact I was givin a Lorreta Lynn album which was all gospel. I loved it so much. I told everyone that I wanted to be the next Lorrta Lynn of Gospel Music, until they told me she was a country singer.

You've been on the road most of your life. how did you find the time to learn your cooking skills? Do you have a favorite recipe? How often do you get to cook meals?

I watched alot of cooking shows on TV, and right after Darrell and I got marreid, his sister was killed in a auto accident. She was still living at home. Darrell's Mom was unable to stay by herself. Darrell and I moved in with his parents for a short while. So I would help cook and learned a great deal from her. She's a real GOOD cook. I try to cook dinner every day we are home. I have many favorite recipes. I bake alot at Christmas time and give them as gifts. My Pumpkin Bread is the favorite of my family. Darrell and Misty bugged me for years to sell it during the holiday. So I did one year. I baked it up and took it on the road with me. I sold 236 loaves, but Chris' Bakery was short lived due to the fact, Misty said it was killing her jewerly sales, and Darrell got tired of hauling it around.

What's your favorite thing to shop for? Where's your favorite place to shop? Is there anything that you hate shopping for?

I love buying things for my house. I love Home Depot and Lowes and of course WALMART.....I guess I don't hate shopping for anything.....

As a mother, what was it like watching your daughter walk down the aisle on her wedding day?

Well there were so many things going through my head, I felt so blessed to see her and her daddy walking down the aisle. Then Caylon our son, was Misty's Man of Honorr. Bryce our new son-in-law is wonderful. We feel blessed to have him in our family. And Misty was so beautful.

When you are finally off the bus and have some time just for you, what really makes your day? When you are sitting at home, what would you probably be watching on television?

I don't think I ever have time to myself, If and when I do I love to work in my house. I love to watch CSI and Law and Order and Paula's Cookin' also Trading Spaces and Flip that House.
