Several months back, I reviewed a project from Matt Throgmorton. In that review, I made the statement that I would love to hear him singing tenor in a group setting. Well wishes do come true and what a group it is. One Voice Trio comes to us from Marion, Illinois and they are a smooth vocal group with an edgy Southern Gospel style

Lead singer, Bryan Cowling is featured on the opening song, “Down on My Knees”. Bryan is a strong lead singer and does a great job on this ballad. “I’m Forgiven” picks up the tempo. This song is a more CCM style song filled with strong harmonies and features baritone singer, John Nimmo.

“I Will Go On” features the tenor voice of Matt Throgmorton. Matt has a great tenor voice and does a great job on this song made popular by the Gaither Vocal Band. One Voice Trio has included a Southern Gospel classic, “Jesus Is Coming Soon”. They have added a new twist to the song with more of a Jazz approach to the arrangement, making it their own.

“Every Page Stained with Blood” is another beautiful ballad featuring the tenor voice of Matt Throgmorton. This song speaks of someone who accidentally spilled the communion grape juice on the Bible and as it soaked through the pages, the person saw the Scripture in a different way. One Voice Trio has included a song that I first heard from the Booth Brothers, “New Shoes”. The Booth Brothers set the bar high vocally but One Voice Trio proves they are up to the challenge.

“The Blood” leans a little more toward Contemporary Christian in style. It is a mid tempo song with a driving beat and features John on lead vocals. “He’s Gonna Touch Me” is a more traditional Southern Gospel song with a Pentecostal flavor.

John Nimmo takes the lead vocals on “Christian”, an exciting hand clapper with a heavy beat. This is a fun song and the guys do it well. One Voice Trio closes the project out with a very pretty ballad, “I See the Blood”.

One Voice Trio has a very commercial sound. These guys could have a great future in Southern Gospel Music. I highly recommend that you check them out. You won’t be disappointed.
